My train was eight minutes late today. The train guard announced on the intercom it was because the driver needed a rest room stop.
It was originally called “operational issues.”
Now we know what that really means.

Poor planning again. Why couldn’t they have just swapped drivers, and put the spare driver on that train for no delay, and kept the scheduled driver as spare? They do have a spare driver rated for all engines, right?
