Signal Issues?
People trying to catch the Onehunga services early this afternoon reported delays said to have been caused by signal issuers.
Anyone else noticed anything?
Let’s hope not. Such issues -as we had with the opening of Newmarket’s new station - is never a healthy sign, especially in encouraging people to try it.

I got on the 1pm service this afternoon, and it was on time to the minute. So not quite sure which ones it is referring to?
2.00 service left 13min late against red signal after waiting clear from control. Kiwirail techs onsite station and princes st cabinets.
@Bill Thanks for that.
I can’t wait to take a run along this line. The last time I did it was in a train made up of two wooden cars hauled by a DSC. It was reasonably well patronised.
Hi Jon
Just to thank you for all the updates, lovely photographs and progress reports over past months. Hope to be back checking progress on the extension to the airport very soon!
This weather is not conducive to unnecessary travel which I’m sure is putting a lot of people off just at the moment and patronage will pick up in time - I’ll take off if ever we get a sunny day again!!
@Ngaire Thanks for your kind words. Stay dry.
Hi Jon
There appears to be an issue with the level crossings either side of the Te Papapa station, namely over Mays Rd, Captain Springs Rd and Church St. A group of Kiwirail workers seem to be controling the crossings manually and the trains are moving through these crossings at very low speed. It looks like all three crossings are being worked as one, and hence the barrier arms on all three are staying down until the train has passed through all three crossings (with the Te Papapa station stop in the middle). Has been creating a bit of traffic congestion.
